I am feeling so successful with the sewing challenge. I have finished nearly every WIP I had, and now I am ready to start some new projects.
I still have some baby wipes to do, those are good for mindless sewing. Also, I have abandoned a few more jean bibs that I have cut out. I won't need them for a good while and I already have five! I'm giving myself a pass on those, but won't throw out the cut pieces in case I ever feel inspired to finish them.
My goals coming into this challenge was to complete some WIPs and make a needle case. I am so proud that I have met these goals in only 10 days of the challenge. To be fair, I often spend more than 30 minutes sewing, but the 30 minute thing really wasn't part of the challenge for me. It is more of a guideline. I want to sew for at least 30 minutes a day.
So, what's up for me next? I am (im)patiently waiting for my I-Spy Squares to arrive so I can do a quilt for Miss Mary's first birthday. It will be late, I am resigned to that. I also have a special knit project that I just finished, so she will get that on the big day.
I want to use some of the I-Spy squares to make a Patchwork ball from the book "Seams to Me" by Anna Maria Horner. Here's a photo of the project:
It looks like it will be challenging!
I can get started on some cutting for the quilt and for this right away (using the fabrics that will compliment the I-Spy Squares, which I already have.
I hope my squares come soon!
That's a great toy. That baby has the same color of hair as Dylan. Reddish.
